The Daytona 500--The Inside Track

The Heart of the Beast
cover_heartofthebeast.gifNew from Nancy Roe Pimm and Darby Creek Publishers, The Heart of the Beast.  You are about to enter the lives of eight famous gorillas--male and female--old and young--with true-life stories that take you to the heart of these often misunderstood, yet fasciating beasts.  Jack Hanna says, "Nancy Roe Pimm has truly captured the 'heart of the beast' in this long overdue book! The stories are not only insightful and authentic, but are also important in helping readers learn about the history, behaviors, and intriguing nature of these, the greatest of great apes."

20% of Nancy's earnings from this book are being donated to help gorillas in the wild, which are currently facing possible extinction.

How can you help? Visit Nancy's links page to learn more about gorillas and the Pan African Sanctuary Alliance.
PASA members oversee the 17 sanctuaries in Africa that house gorilla/chimpanzee/bonobo and other primates that were orphaned because of the bushmeat trade. It costs $1.50 a day to feed an orphaned gorilla or chimp in these sanctuaries. The sanctuaries often act as education centers as well. Short Bio...

Nancy Roe Pimm grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where she rode buses and subways.   Cars were not important to her.  Little did she know that someday she would marry a race car driver, Ed Pimm.  They married in 1977 and today are the proud parents of three daughters, Allison 26, Lindsay 24, and Carli 14.  Allison and Lindsay both married in 2006, welcoming two young men into their family, Rusty and Jason. Ms. Roe Pimm and her family reside in Dublin, Ohio on a five-acre horse farm.  She shares her home with four horses, three dogs, three cats, and Monty Python, the snake.
